Martin and Malcolm in America

Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X were often portrayed as opposites, with contrasting ideals and goals. But the two men had a rich and nuanced relationship over the years. How they navigated the struggles can inspire us in our fight against racism and oppression today.

We hope to see you in person! Our COVID policy has been suspended and masking is now optional.

Jumpin’ January Workshops

“Exploring our new UU values”   with Douglas Taylor, in the chapel and Zoom
Let’s talk about the values and covenants at the center of Unitarian Universalism: Love, Generosity, Pluralism, Justice, Equity, Transformation, and Interdependence. Let’s get familiar with them and how they impact our congregation.

“Pagan Ritual; an order of service”   with DJ Goldenberg, 3rd Degree Witch, in the Rainbow Room
One objective of any ritual is to do something the same way every time. Find a format that works for you and go for it. This workshop will provide the knowledge you need for ONE way of performing rituals. DJ was taught primarily within an eclectic, Alexandrian system of Wiccan; but she has pulled many aspects of her rituals from experiences and other teachings, expanding it from just being Alexandrian. She is looking forward to facilitating rituals at UUCB; and this workshop may be used as a primer for those rituals, as well as a resource you can use to help you create your own ritual structure.
There will be plenty of time for questions. Please feel free to bring questions on anything pagan or pagan adjacent.

“Dread the Jenga roleplaying game”   with Dylan Cooke, in the Social hall
Join Dylan in the second story-based game of Jumping January. Dread which is a horror roleplaying game where the only thing you need to play is a Jenga tower.
