A New Hope Always Helps

December’s theme is Choosing Hope. Star Wars is a classic space fantasy movie series that features hope as a key tool for dealing with “the Empire.” The power of hope is a surprisingly common theme in dystopian stories. Join us for a fun exploration of hope together. (First Sunday workshops for all ages to follow.)

We hope to see you in person or online. For in person, masking is optional.

First Sunday Workshops

Coffee and Conversation with the Minister (or UUCB Leader) with Reverend Taylor in the Rainbow Room
Grab a hot beverage and join us in the rainbow room to learn a little bit more about our faith and congregation and ask any questions. This monthly offering is aimed at newcomers, but everyone is welcome.

“Take a Breath” with Pat Kissick in the chapel.
At this festive but busy time of year, take time to find a few quiet moments for yourself. Pat will lead us through some breathing exercises and a relaxing full-body scan meditation.

Operation Merriment: Capsules of Connection for the December Holidays with Traci Pena in the social hall
Start Saving plastic eggs, pill bottles, tiny organza/cloth/plastic bags, small origami boxes, empty toilet paper rolls, fun envelopes, as well as stickers, tiny tchotchkes/ bric-a-brac, etc. You can also drop supplies off in the BOX labeled “Operation Merriment” in the coat room, if you’d like to be a part of this mission but can’t attend.

We’ll meet to make “capsules of connection” filled with affirmations, doodles, kindness notes, jokes, stickers, poems and/or little treasures to fill up our Merriment Kits and then you will receive your deployment missions (should you decide to accept them)

Suggestion: Do some research and get an idea that works for you (and your family) and come prepared with that idea in mind, as well as, bring some extra materials to share with others. There will be a wrapped in Christmas paper box in the coat room to put items in, in case you want to contribute but can’t attend.
