What Is Love?

There are many different kinds of love and perceptions of what love means. Generally love is used to describe the connection shared between partners and close family. Come join us as we unravel the word and its meaning to us as individuals and community.

First Sundays: On the first Sunday of each month, we have a shortened worship service followed by various workshops for all ages. See below for this Sunday’s workshops.

We hope to see you in person! Our COVID policy has been suspended and masking is now optional.

1st Sunday Workshops for February 5th

“GA: The Annual Meeting of UUs” with Jeff Donahue and Becca Boerger in the Chapel and on Zoom: This annual meeting always moves around the country — this year it is in nearby Pittsburgh! If you’ve never attended GA (General Assembly), it’s a gathering of a few thousand UUs that is simply marvelous! Becca & Jeff will give you an overview of what it’s like and how you can participate. This workshop will be in-person and streamed live on Zoom.

“Creating a Focal Point” with Pat Chirumbolo in the Sanctuary: Would you like to create the focal point in the sanctuary but don’t know where to start? We’ll look at finding inspiration and materials and tapping your creative spirit to try this rewarding activity, with some basic arrangement suggestions thrown in.

“Faith in Action – Making free lunches for our neighbors” with Julie Boyd in Room 7: We will make sandwiches and fill lunch bags during the workshop time, and then those who would like to stay later can help distribute the lunches to the community from our kitchen. All ages are invited to join us in jump-starting our February “Spread the Love” peanut butter and jelly food drive!

“Faith in Action – Making Valentines for our home-bound members” with Karen Armstrong Manzer and Christine O”Donnell in room 6: All ages are invited to make Valentines to be delivered by UUCB’s Caring Committee.

PLEASE NOTE: The two Faith in Action workshops will be held in adjoining rooms, so it will be easy to participate in both projects.
