Subject: Heating Systems Update: Do NOT use HOLD any more under normal circumstances
It has been nearly a month since Dailey came in and made some improvements to our system and since then we have not had any "Freeze Detect" shutdowns. So this morning I switched the backup system back to its normal use where it will take over only when temperatures in that thermostat's zone drop to 60 degrees. This is the set point they are programmed for and so now no HOLD is required when using our backup system and we should not be using it. Feel free to do overrides as needed when it is not warm enough .. they will revert back to the 60 degree set point at the start of the next program interval (there are 4 per day). The place to use HOLD is for special cases like youth lock-ins when you want the temperatures to stay steady for a long time .. across program interval changes.
Thanks, Wes
