CLM Update: So Proud

I am so proud of our congregation! We decided to live into our aspirations … to boldly advance our congregation into an environment that is more supportive of children, visitors, community, and those seeking more spirituality in their lives. Several months ago we, as a congregation, were given 3 choices in renovating our church: gold, silver and bronze plans. By only one vote we choose the silver plan over the gold. Yesterday, we could have chosen the bronze plan over the silver, but by an overwhelming majority we voted for a more ambitious future. I am proud of us. Proud of our leaders in the capital campaign and board who have been so dedicated to thoroughly investigating options and offering so many ways for the rest of us to connect, ask questions, and offer suggestions. This process was such a beautiful example of the seven Unitarian Universlist principles, especially our fifth: “The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large.” I am so proud. So proud.
