Tiffany and Adee,
Maybe coordinate with Trebbe for this coming Sunday since her service is "Earth" themed? You could easily do something after the service. Let me know and I will promote it.
The next Sunday (July 21st) would work too. That would be the day before the tree is taken down.

Adee,You and Tiffany had talked about wanting to do a farewell ritual for the big tree.
You can coordinate with Karen for timing, but it looks like you’ll want to do that in the next week or so.

This is the large maple tree in the courtyard that is near the Social Hall.  The work will be done by Orion Tree Service.  Removal of the tree will take one day;  drilling out the stump will probably be done about a week later.  I will talk to them on the previous Friday (19th) to pick the exact day based on the weather forecast, their schedule, etc.  When I know the day, I'll pass that along.  During that day, we can use the building normally but will need to park in the front and not use the courtyard or the back parking lot. Karen: Let me know if there is any day we should avoid due to our schedule.  I looked at our calendar and it looked ok to me.
Details:
The price is $1700.  I got one other bid, which was for  $2400.  There is $2000 in our budget for this work.
This tree is being removed because its trunk was damaged during the renovation and because of a large limb that has been weakened due to stress damage in the past.  If it were to fall, it would hit our roof.
They will haul away everything except for what we want to keep for firewood.  They are willing to cut two medium sized limbs into firewood length at no additional charge.   After they are done, we will stack it with our other firewood.
