Renovation Update: We’re moving across town for 8 months

Frequently Asked Questions

While our building is closed for renovations in 2020, we will be worshiping and meeting elsewhere for about 8 months.

Where will we me meeting in January? Starting January 1st, we will be meeting at the United Presbyterian Church on 42 Chenango Street in downtown Binghamton http://upcbgm.org/visit-us. The ministers of that congregation are Rev. Kimberly Chastain and Rev. Becky Kindig.

Where will the Church office be? We will have a room in their office area for our exclusive use. We will move our computers, copy machine, phone and internet over.

When will we have our Sunday Morning Worship? Our worship hour will be from 12:30 to 1:30. We will share a Social Hour with the Presbyterians at 11:30. We would do our social hour before our worship service. We begin worship at 12:30.

Where will we park? All of that parking is free on Sundays. There is street parking ($0.50 / hour until 6 pm M-W and until 8, pm Th-Sat) and a good-sized parking garage half a block from the church. The Parking Garage on State Street is our best option on Sunday mornings. We are still negotiating use of the small parking lot behind the church – each driver will require a parking pass for that because they’ve had trouble with students parking there.

How do I schedule my meeting or event? All our meetings and events will be integrated into the existing United Presbyterian calendar. Our office manager, Karen Armstrong office@uubinghamton.org, can help out with that. Scott Kindig media@upcbgm.org, the office staff of UP, is also available to help.

How will I know what’s going on? We will pay extra attention to getting information out on our website https://uubinghamton.org/ and you can also email Karen to get on the e-blast and e-beacon list. You can read sermon manuscripts by Rev. Douglas Taylor at his website https://douglastaylor.org/ Parents and families can be added to the new listserv being created by our T-REC Amanda Jones dfm@uubinghamton.org
