Welcome! We are delighted that you have found us. We understand that this is a special day for you, one of the most important in your life, and we are committed to ensuring that your ceremony is as meaningful and smoothly realized as it is beautiful.
Our sanctuary seats up to 120 guests, with additional seating available for a few dozen more if needed. Other locations in our building are available for smaller weddings, such as our Fireside Room which will comfortably hold 20 – 30 people.
Reception Site
There are many locations for a reception in the Greater Binghamton area. However, our Social Hall, with its ample space, welcoming atmosphere and access to our kitchen, is available for receptions.
Interfaith weddings
Couples do not need to be Unitarian Universalist to use our space or for our minister to comfortably officiate at the service. Indeed many couples from differing denominations, differing religions, or even of no religious tradition have found that a Unitarian Universalist minister can lead a service that honors and celebrates the religious diversity that is present.
Service of Union
Service of Union and Weddings for same-sex couples are warmly welcomed at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Binghamton. There is no difference in church policy between same-sex unions and other weddings.
Reserving a Date
Your wedding date can be reserved on the church calendar after you have:
Consultation with the Minister
Generally, our minister meets with you as a couple at least once, often twice, before the wedding in order to get to know you better, to plan out the details of the wedding, and to talk with you about the spiritual issues and life challenges that often present themselves when a wedding is being planned.
Fees
Those who are members of the church and in good standing with their pledge at the time that reservations are made will have all such fees waived.
Access to the Sanctuary for decorating and setting up is arranged with the Office Manager.
