Classes are held concurrently with our worship services. Each Sunday the children spend 15 - 20 minutes either in the sanctuary or in children's chapel. About six times per year we worship together as a congregational family; the children join the adults for full intergenerational services on ingathering Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter services, a flower communion service, and our year-end children's service.
UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST PRINCIPLES & PURPOSES
[as adopted for young people by Helena Chapin & Mary Ann Moore]
We believe that each and every person is important;
We believe that all people should be treated fairly;
We believe that our religious communities are places where all people
are accepted and where we keep on learning together;
We believe that everyone should have a vote about the things that concern them;
We believe that each person must be free
to search for what is true and right in life;
We believe in working for a peaceful, fair, and free world;
We believe in caring for our planet earth.Mission Statement of
The Religious Education ProgramThe mission of the Religious Education Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Binghamton is to foster a Unitarian Universalist (UU) community, and develop programming for our youth that celebrates our UU religious heritage. We will provide a physical, spiritual and social environment that nurtures the development of personal spiritual beliefs and a shared set of values and ethics.
