What we remember is a way of knowing who we are and where we belong.  Through story, reflection, song, and some interactions we will explore the connections between memory and membership.  First Sunday worship is for all ages; it is followed by workshops for all ages as well.

Workshops (11:30 to 12:15):

Memories Art with JoAnn Freer (Room 6 & 7) – Using a variety of art mediums, we will focus on “Memories”. If you can, bring a picture of a (person, place, or thing) which has inspired you. We will share our memories while creating art to honor your picture.

Packing and Unpacking through Life with Libby Anderson (Room 10) – Remembering the special things you have kept close, or always held dear; and remembering other things you have let go.

Jars and Mixes “Faith in Action” with Julie Boyd – Join us in making soup packets and hot chocolate mixes to support the Helping Celebrate Abilities center in Johnson City. Proceeds from the sale of the packets and mixes will support the HCA’s Adopt-A-Family holiday program.

A Kid’s View of Front Street & Early 1960s with Jim Taft and Wes Ernsberger (Fireside Room) – Join our circle to listen to and share your own stories & reminiscence of UUCB.

Journaling Meditation with Elena Greene (Room 5) – Using The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, we will explore the past to uncover forgotten treasures and to recognize & begin to heal old wounds.

Memory Collage with Pratik Mamtora (Social Hall) – using the found objects from last month’s Scavenger Hunt along with a few added items, we will construct artwork together.
