Carrying the Flame Forward – Next Steps

We are very excited to be moving forward with the next steps of our UUCB Renovation Project – the Capital Campaign. The results of the Financial Feasibility Study (FFS) conducted in June, 2018 were very positive, with our consultant estimating that we should be able to raise well over $1M. So now what? On Sunday, September 9th, after service in the sanctuary, there will be a cottage meeting to answer questions about the project and the campaign itself. A detailed prospectus will be available around that time containing the history and details of the project. On Sunday, September 23rd, there will be a congregational vote to formally kick off the capital campaign on October 1st. From October 1st – November 30th, a Visiting Steward from the congregation will meet face-to-face with everyone in the congregation to discuss the campaign and request a pledge. Visiting Stewards will be trained on Saturday, September 15th from 9 – noon. If you have been asked to be a Visiting Steward, please consider serving in this very important capacity. Many hands make a light load, and the more people who are engaged in the process, the better our chances for success! Given the strong congregation-wide support for the campaign, these should not be difficult meetings. There will be two kickoff events at UUCB for the campaign – one on Saturday, September 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the other on Sunday, October 14 from noon to 2 p.m.  Further details about each event will be forthcoming. To summarize, the timeline for our “Next Steps” is as follows:

We will track the progress of the campaign throughout October and November so that everyone can see how much has been raised, and how many visits have been made. Our goal is to raise at least $1.25M and to achieve 100% participation from the congregation. Please help us to achieve our goal by making yourself available to a Visiting Steward when you are contacted, and by being as generous as you are able during this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
